Episode 013: 5 Pro Tips to Help You Become a Better Landlord

There are a lot of things that could go wrong as a landlord, but in order for your tenants to take the best care of your units, you have to take the best care of them. The more you give each tenant their own space as well as stuff that makes it feel like home, the more they’re going to treat your property like home.

Remember, your tenants are the caretaker of your unit while you’re the caretaker of the building. And so, you have to show them how to do it the right way. In this episode, I’m sharing with you FIVE pro tips to help you become a better, more mindful landlord. This is a mindful approach to landlording.

The idea is to get your units up and running, make them fully functional, and make sure that your tenants are well taken care of. These tips might not get you the best cash flow over the long term, but they’re going to create better tenant relationships.

Real estate investing is not really passive, especially not landlording. But if you do your upkeep correctly, set up your properties right, and treat your tenants, you’re going to get a lot fewer calls, which is what you really want. Mindful landlord = happy tenants + less calls.

In this episode, you will hear:

  • Online rent payment
  • Exterior upkeep
  • Laundry and storage
  • Parking and backyard
